Worldwide shipping delays during the festive season

Worldwide shipping delays during the festive season

Thank you so much for your continued support and choosing Kawaiies to surprise your loved ones.

Since the start of the pandemic, many people have shifted over to purchasing online instead of instore as it is safer and more convenient. With the festive season coming up a lot of us want to surprise our family and friends with a gift this Christmas resulting in a large influx of online orders across the globe.

Due to the increased number of shipments during the holiday season, delays are now inevitable and we are receiving more and more customer enquiries regarding their parcels not arriving on time. Here are a few other reasons that are causing delays with shipment: lack of resources, staff illness, new COVID variants, lockdowns, natural hazards, weather, lack of planes and freight couriers, the list goes on.

UK Customers
"Royal Mail has confirmed that absence levels are almost double those seen in 2018 before the coronavirus pandemic."

Internal sources from Royal Mail themselves say that the situation is "horrific" due to sickness and increased demand for shipment. We have seen it first hand ourselves with many parcels being held at Royal Mail distribution centres especially at Atherstone RDC which stands for Regional Distribution Centres for international parcels. However, the delays do not stop here, local Royal Mail post offices are also experiencing trouble keeping up with all the parcels coming through. Some of our parcels are being returned for no apparent reason. We've reached out to Royal Mail customer support team regarding these returned and stuck parcels but the support team are unsure themselves.

If you have ordered from us and you are shipping to the UK, your tracking information may take a little longer to update, so please bear with the postal services as they are trying their best to deliver your parcel. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do on our end as the UK postal services are trying to get through a major back log issue combined with a lack of resource issue.

Canadian Customers
"Unprecedented parcel volumes combined with new safety protocols, reduced international flights, and pandemic measures worldwide are creating delays for customers. We have adjusted our delivery standards to better reflect expected delivery times, however service may not be consistent. Some items may be delivered 7 to 10 days beyond published delivery standards. Consumers and business shippers should consider the additional delivery time when making commitments to recipients in overseas destinations.

We sincerely apologise to all our customers who ordered from us and are experiencing delays with their parcels or have had their parcels return back to us. The first major issue that we were tackling with our Canadian parcels this year was the transportation between China to Canada. Due to a lack of freight couriers and planes operating, a back log of parcels built up within the mail centres in China. However, we have now passed this hurdle by shipping our products out with a different shipping route. Unfortuantely, we now have to pay a premium shipping fee and have had to charge a small shipping fee at checkout to contribute towards the fee. Some of our Canadian customers are now receiving their parcels within 3 weeks of ordering, which is great news.

We kindly ask for your continued patience and cooperarton during this period. To find out more about the shipping delays within your country please check your local post office webite.
